Course Description

The Basic & Advanced Diabetic Foot Care Nursing Certification Program is designed to equip licensed healthcare professionals with the knowledge, clinical skills, and practical experience required to provide safe, effective, and evidence-informed diabetic foot care.

This comprehensive program combines foundational theory with hands-on clinical training in diabetic foot assessment, foot anatomy and physiology, infection prevention and control, documentation, legal and ethical practice, and advanced foot care techniques. Participants will develop the clinical judgment and practical competencies needed to identify foot health risks, provide appropriate care, educate clients on preventative foot care, and support positive health outcomes for individuals living with diabetes.

The program also introduces participants to professional practice and entrepreneurial opportunities through the Be Your Own Boss (BYOD) module, providing insight into establishing and managing a foot care practice.

Through a combination of classroom learning, skills training, clinical competency assessments, and supervised clinical practicum/internship experience, participants will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world care settings.

Upon successful completion of all required coursework, skills demonstrations, evaluations, and clinical requirements, participants will receive a Certificate in Basic & Advanced Diabetic Foot Care Nursing issued by OneTouch Healthcare Clinic.

This program is intended for RNs, RPNs/LPNs, and PSWs with active registration who are seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in diabetic foot care.
